Mission trip to Shandong

This is my 13th year of ministry in China, totalling almost 50 trips since the year 2000. In all these years, the last 2 trips were perhaps the most nerve-wracking one as far as Huiliang was concerned. This was due to the government’s policy of either to slow down the growth of Christianity or clamping it down as a foreign religion in a communist country. On a previous trip, after fetching me from the airport to the teaching centre, our brother’s heart started to beat arrhythmically. That was affirmed by an ECG test he took at a clinic. Encouraging the brethren in Miri and Brunei

I arrived at Miri Airport at 12.15 pm on Thursday (27 Jun). I walked past a couple as I walked from the tarmac towards the arrival hall. I was not sure who would be there to receive me. But when I turned back, I saw the couple smiling at me. They walked towards me and asked, “Are you Rev Phee?” I said, “Yes”, and they introduced themselves as Rev Anyi and his wife, Janis, of the Miri Reformed Church. We then moved on to fetch Harrison, a former FEBC student who had recovered from stroke, and now serving in the church. We proceeded to have lunch in a coffeeshop.
