The children of Israel trembled at the words of the LORD (Isaiah 66:1-2). It would have been just as wise if they trembled at their own words not because of the weight that their words carried, but because of the judgment with which God would mete out to those who spoke rashly, hastily, and hurtfully. Our Lord Jesus warns: “Every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
