Are you a murmurer?
The dictionary defines ‘murmuring’ as “a soft, low, or indistinct sound produced by a person or group of people speaking quietly or at a distance”. It also can mean an “indistinct, whispered, or confidential complaint; a mutter.” In medicine, it refers to“ an abnormal sound, usually emanating from the heart” which sometimes indicates a serious heart condition.
The Bible mentions this word in a few incidents: Continue reading “The Herald Weekly Vol XVI : 22”

JERUSALEM: THE FOCUS OF POLITICAL AND MILITARY UPHEAVALS
Jerusalem is a very unique city. It has often been at the centre of the world’s attention. In fact it was in the news last week: The USA moved its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This unilateral decision has delighted Israelis but enraged Palestinians and the Arab world. Why? Continue reading “The Herald Weekly Vol XVI : 21”

SWIFT to LISTEN
SLOW to SPEAK
The children of Israel trembled at the words of the LORD (Isaiah 66:1-2). It would have been just as wise if they trembled at their own words not because of the weight that their words carried, but because of the judgment with which God would mete out to those who spoke rashly, hastily, and hurtfully. The Judgment Day
In 2 Peter 3:12, the Apostle Peter said, “Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God…” This refers to the idea of “expecting”, “look eagerly for”, “waiting for”, “live expecting”. This great Greek verb describes one who is waiting for something with a sense of expectancy. Continue reading “The Herald Weekly Vol XVI : 16”

Ascension of Christ our Saviour
The final proof of who Jesus Christ is rests on His Ascension, without which all that the Bible teaches does not make any sense. This aspect of Christ’s life is often overshadowed by His incarnation and the resurrection. The much celebrated Christmas as well as Easter makes the Ascension of Christ almost a “no event”. But it is not to be ignored or missed. Someone once said, “Easter is incomplete, Pentecost is impeded, and the Second Coming is impossible without the Ascension.” (Robert Ramsey) Continue reading “The Herald Weekly Vol XVI : 14”
